Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe prickly pears

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 cup of water or orange juice

  • Honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)

  • Ice cubes

  • Blender

Note: Please note that prickly pears contain small seeds that may be uncomfortable for some people. You can choose to remove the seeds by pitting the prickly pears prior to using them in the recipes, or leave them in the recipes based on your preferences.

Hold it at a slight angle over the fruit and let the flames glide gently over the spikes. This will remove them without damaging the fruit. Protective gloves or kitchen tongs protect your hands. Then gently wipe over the flamed prickly pear to remove residue.


Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Peel and dice prickly pears.

  • Peel the banana, cut into pieces.

Step 2: Blend the ingredients

  • Put prickly pears, banana, yoghurt, water/orange juice in blender.

  • Adjust more liquid for consistency if necessary.

Step 3: Sweeten as needed

  • Use natural sweetness.

  • Add 1 tsp honey, date or maple syrup.

Step 4: Blend to perfection

  • Cover the blender and blend all the ingredients on high until combined into a smooth and creamy consistency.

Step 5: The final note - ice cubes

  • Add a few ice cubes for freshness, mix briefly.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
